Piano Maintenance

Get your piano tuned at least every six months, more frequently if it's new. Ideal: Cool, dry room, away from direct sunlight and not close to radiators, air conditioners, or vents. Put it at least four inches away from the wall to allow the sound to get out. get a professional cleaning every three years. Don't do it yourself. Dangers: Mothballs or spray inside the piano.
